Hanson: The Gaza Rules -- Completely at Odds with Past Protocols of War
By PissNVinegar
Tue Jan 06, 2009 12:04 AM
The Israelis just struck back hard at Hamas in Gaza. In response, the United Nations, the European Union and the Arab world (at least publicly) expressed their anger at the killing of over 300 Palestinians, most of whom were terrorists and Hamas officials. For several prior weeks, Hamas terrorists had been daily launching rockets into Israeli towns that border Gaza. The recent volleys of missiles had insidiously become more frequent — up to 80 a day — and the payloads larger. Iranian-backed Hezbollah terrorists were reportedly supplying their own training and expertise. These terrorists point to the Lebanon war of 2006 as the proper template for provoking an Israeli counter-response that will bog down the Israeli Defense Forces in the streets of urban Gaza and ensure that Palestinian civilians are harmed on global television.

Steyn: Clashing Civilizations?
By PissNVinegar
Mon Jan 05, 2009 10:57 PM
In Gaza, they don’t vote for Hamas because they want access to university education. Or, if they do, it’s to get Junior into the Saudi-funded Hamas-run Islamic University of Gaza, where majoring in rocket science involves making one and firing it at the Zionist Entity. [Westerners, particularly the diplomatic elite, seem to entertain a fantasy that assumes otherwise. It's not about land, economics, past grievances at all. Steyn explains.]

More than 70,000 Iranian students have volunteered to carry out suicide bombings against Israel, Iran's state news agency reported Monday, but President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has not responded to their request for permission.
Do they offer doctorates in suicide bombings or just an associates of science degree because of the "one-time" thing?

Obama should speak up now in support of Israel
By mahalo
Sun Jan 04, 2009 10:51 PM
Before the election, many of Obama's backers contended in these pages that Obama would continue America's long-standing support for the Jewish state. If so, he should say so, loud and clear. And while Obama and his advisers are understandably reluctant to undermine the Bush administration's positions by contradicting them before he takes office, as many on the Left passionately desire, there is no such risk in reinforcing Bush's message by echoing it in his own, eloquent way.

The rest of the leaders of the civilized world say every nation has the right to defend itself. ... Even the Arabs privately detest Hamas and 85% of them welcome the Israeli clean up of the Gaza rat's nest. ... The EU is officially in favor of it. ... But just hours after the Czech president of the European Union said the action was "defensive, not offensive" France, of course, issued the dreaded CONDEMNATION of Israel for not allowing a continuation of Hamas playfully launching thousands of rockets on women, children, hospitals, tourists, and schools.

So how was your holiday season? Over in Gaza, whether or not they’re putting the Christ back in Christmas, they’re certainly putting the crucifixion back in Easter. According to the London-based Arabic newspaper al Hayat, on December 23rd Hamas legislators voted to introduce Sharia — Islamic law — to the Palestinian Territories, including crucifixion. So next time you’re visiting what my childhood books still quaintly called “the Holy Land,” the re-enactments might be especially lifelike.

20,000 US soldiers heading to Afghanistan soon
By TheFroginator
Sat Jan 03, 2009 10:24 AM
Afghanistan's southern rim, the Taliban's spiritual birthplace and the country's most violent region, has for the last two years been the domain of British, Canadian and Dutch soldiers. That's about to change. In what amounts to an Afghan version of the surge in Iraq, the U.S. is preparing to pour at least 20,000 extra troops into the south, augmenting 12,500 NATO soldiers who have proved too few to cope with a Taliban insurgency that is fiercer than NATO leaders expected.

Iraq opens Saddam Hussein house of horrors on anniversary of dictator's hanging
By Chirac_estun_ver
Sat Jan 03, 2009 02:50 AM
A Saddam Hussein house of horrors museum is set to open in the New Year in Baghdad, it emerged today – the second anniversary of the dictator’s hanging. The exhibition includes a man-shaped iron cage used to torture unsuccessful athletes, bloodstained noose and battle plans for the extermination of rebellious Kurds. It is designed to send a clear message that even the most feared dictator cannot hope to evade justice. Saddam
The director of this house of horrors commented, "Madame Tussauds ain't got nothing on us." Western Leftists who volunteered as human shields to protect the Saddam regime, loved visiting the house of horrors. They were able to reflect on what they tried so valiantly to protect from the mean old coalition troops.

Hamas leader says it ready to confront Gaza invasion
By Chirac_estun_ver
Sat Jan 03, 2009 01:35 AM
In the Israeli-blockaded Gaza Strip, 1.5 million Palestinians are unable to escape the conflict. Residents face bombs, missiles and flickering electricity, and queue for bread along streets littered with broken glass and other debris.
After many months of sending rockets to Israel in hopes of killing anyone who happens to be in it's way (and all this during a cease fire) a Hamas leader is ready to fight back?? The MSM is, of course, horrified Jews dare to protect themselves and try to build up the aggressors as the victims. Poor helpless paleosimians voting in Hamas, which is dedicated to the destruction of Israel. I cry for them every time they cheer on another terrorists attack and especially remember them dancing in the streets after 911. They started it so playing the victim card isn't an option.

Son of Hamas Leader Gives Glimpse Into Terror Organization
By Bombs_Away_LeMay
Fri Jan 02, 2009 03:45 PM
As Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and other world leaders try to broker a cease-fire agreement between Israel and Hamas, one former member of the militant Islamic organization said there will never be lasting peace between the two groups. Yousef, son of Sheikh Hassan Yousef, one of the most influential leaders of the militant group, said the organization betrays the Palestinian cause and tortures its own members. Yousef said he was indoctrinated at an early age to use violence to challenge Israeli control in the region. As a teenager he moved up within the organization and became the leader of the radical Islamic Youth Movement that fought Israeli tanks and troops in the streets, celebrated suicide bombings and recruited young men to the cause. Yousef, 30, said he realized the true nature of Hamas and radical Islam during a stint in an Israeli prison. He renounced his Muslim faith, left his family behind in Ramallah and converted to Christianity. "Islam is not the word of God," said Yousef. Brave bastard that Yousef...

Belgium: Police find Muslim hit list of prominent jews
By Bombs_Away_LeMay
Fri Jan 02, 2009 07:29 AM
Jewish-French philosopher Bernard Henri-Levy was listed by a Belgium-based Islamist group as a target for assassination alongside other leading Jewish personalities in Europe, the Belgian daily La Derniere Heure reported earlier this week. The planned assassination was apparently thwarted after group leader Abdelkader Belliraj, a Belgian of Moroccan ascent, was arrested last February in Morocco, the newspaper reported. Belgian authorities found the list during a raid on homes of local Muslim community members last November, according to the report. The hit list mentioned the names of five other well-know Jewish figures in Belgium and France: Josy Eisenberg, producer of the A Bible ouverte (Open Bible) television program on FR2; Simone Susskind, a leader of Belgium's secular Jewish community; attorney Markus Pardes, president of the International Association of Jewish lawyers and jurists; Belgian writer Jean-Claude Bologne and La Derniere Heure reporter Edmond Blattche. (No doubt the Belgian Frog authorities will try and blame these jews for "provacative" actions - like simply being jews or something...)

Logistics managers say they negotiate deeper discounts every week on ships that are leaving half empty. In nearby Guangdong Province, so many factories are closing without paying employees that some workers are resigning pre-emptively and demanding immediate pay before their employers go bankrupt. In Sichuan and other interior provinces, municipal officials are desperately searching for ways to provide jobs for millions of out-of-work migrant laborers whose families no longer need them for farming.
