Image hot-links are no longer permitted in private messages. Hot-linked images are a way to embed an image from a remote web server in your message.
This change removed a security risk where someone could determine your IP address using an image hot-link in a PM. You can still hot–link in public threads and replies.
Furthermore: To reduce your risk, do not click on any web links sent to you in a PM from someone you don't trust since this can also be used to reveal your IP address.
The forum developers are working on a way to let you turn off all hot-links if you so desire.

Aww, Shon, you've taken away my favorite toy! You have no idea how many Frog computers I've killed! You'd be suprised how vulnerable they are to a Mac-generated Ping of Death (oversized IP packet that causes an instant reboot). They never update their ethernet drivers! |

Ping of death? I don't know many people who still use Win95 ,NT or 3.X.
And why the hell are you talking about ethernet drivers? Do you mean that you are able to ping private IPs? |
