... Come here to have your baby. ... You get deported, but your baby, being a U.S. citizen stays and gets adopted out to a childless couple. ... What a brilliant solution to the anchor baby problem.

Stolen Babies? Immigrant Mother Loses Four Kids

The scars of childbirth were still healing on Amelia Reyes Jimenez's stomach in 2008 when police came to her Phoenix apartment and took her three-month-old daughter from her arms.
Three and a half years later, Reyes Jimenez and her four children have become statistics in the U.S. crackdown on illegal immigration. Each year thousands of children of undocumented immigrants, like Amelia's kids, wind up in foster care when their parents are arrested for immigration violations. Some are even adopted by U.S. citizens while their parents are held in federal detention centers or deported back to their native countries.
Reyes Jimenez's son and three daughters are now living in foster care in Phoenix, and are awaiting possible adoption. Reyes Jimenez is back in Mexico, her parental rights terminated by an Arizona judge, and she cries when she remembers the raid that began it all.
"My daughters were calling, 'Mommy, my Mommy,'" said Reyes Jimenez. "I felt destroyed. I felt like I would never see my girls, even worse [the baby] was so small. I had just bought her cradle and her stroller."
A new study by the human rights group Applied Research Center estimates that as of summer 2011 there were at least 5,100 children of detained immigrants in foster care in 22 states.
"It's clearly a systemic problem," said Rinku Sen, executive director of ARC. "It happens again and again and again in multiple states, multiple counties, different ICE agents, different detention centers, different judges." Though the report did not say how many kids had been adopted, ARC did find that detained parents were at risk of permanent separation from their kids because of deportation.
"It's sort of like saying, okay, you came here as an undocumented immigrant, we're going to break up your family, we're going to keep your kids," said John De Leon, and attorney who represents the Guatemalan and Mexican consulate in immigration cases. He says he has seen the issue grow into a national problem over the last decade.
The police came for Amelia Reyes Jimenez in 2008 to arrest her for one count of child endangerment, a misdemeanor, because she had left her 13-year-old son Cesar, who is severely disabled, alone in her apartment. Jimenez says she thought that Cesar was with her two older daughters and their father, but he had taken the girls to the park and left Cesar home alone.
When she arrived home with baby daughter Erica in her arms, she found the police waiting.
"The only thing they asked was if I was illegal and whether or not I had my papers," she said. She told them she had no papers. She was handcuffed.
Reyes Jimenez was sent to a detention center an hour outside Phoenix. It would be six months before she had any contact with her children, and nearly two years before she would see them again in person.
"I didn't know anything about my girls; they didn't give me any reasons," she said. "I would ask about them and nobody would answer."
Reyes Jimenez, who pled guilty to the misdemeanor, then spent nearly two years fighting deportation. Ultimately, she was loaded onto a bus and dropped off in Nogales, Sonora, Mexico, just across the border.

Since separating these criminals from their crotchfruit upsets abc and the left so much, I say we deport the brats too.

I was actually thinking of Plyler v. Doe in 1982. Where Brennan slipped the following in as a footnote to his dissent.
"no plausible distinction with respect to Fourteenth Amendment 'jurisdiction' can be drawn between resident aliens whose entry into the United States was lawful, and resident aliens whose entry was unlawful."
It appears that Wong Kim Ark's parents were legal residents of the US even though there were laws prohibiting chinese from becoming naturalized citizens. | re: Stolen Babies? I would think we have enough parentless Ameircan children that should be adopted first, before any anchor baby. I can't begin to imagine the heartbreak of the mother of the children, having them taken from you, while they are screaming for you. The babies should go back to Mexico with the mother and the anchor baby law stricken from the books! My wife and I divorced, back in 1990, but remarried again a year later, just a one year pause, lol! But, when we did got the divorce, I had four little girls, screaming and crying "Daddy, daddy" while I was driving off. You never forget something like that, never. Although we were only apart less than a year, the memories remain like it was yesterday, that is why I feel so sorry for the mother and the children. I am totally against illegals, but this should not be allowed to happen, send them all back as a family! | re: Stolen Babies? Immigrant Mother Loses Four Kids (karma: 1)

.
... I fully agree, but as long as liberals control the government the anchor baby law won't be changed. This is tough for the first families to be split, but word wiil spread fast in Beanerland what will happen and they will quit pouring in to get wellfare and food stamps (with fake documents).
On balance, the USA must be saved, even if it means splitting a few families during the transition as word gets around Mexico. ... or until the law gets changed.

I am calling BULLSHIT on this story.
When illegals are arrested without their children present, the kids are usually with some sort of custodian (family, friends, etc.)
If the kids are also illegal, they can be removed with their parent(s), if the parents wish by simply telling the Feds where the kids are, so they can be processed for removal, too. Many choose not to, because it will be more difficult (and expensive) to return illegally to the USA.
If the kids are US citizens (anchor babies) they cannot be removed, but the parents can take them back home, if they so choose. Again, many do not.
A judge would only intervene if there was some other factor(s) involved. For example, if the parent was somehow deemed unfit, like being abusive, etc...just like anyone else.
BTW, illegals often lie a lot. | re: Stolen Babies? Immigrant Mother Loses Four Kids en>fr fr>en By TexanForever Comments: 19314, member since Thu Jun 10, 2004On Fri Feb 03, 2012 09:27 AM

You are right this is a huge feel sorry for me story. My thoughts is that obama is doing this so he can blame the evil conservatives because I have never heard this before. | re: Stolen Babies? Immigrant Mother Loses Four Kids (karma: 2)

... couldn't agree more, a huge feel sorry story, ... but you're missing the point. If, in fact she was separated from her anchor babies and her fat ass was deposited in Nogales (which I am convinced is true) the Mex authorities will jump on it like stink on shit and pretty soon the story will be all over Mexico.
It's the perception that the mean ol' gringos will steal your babies then kick your ass out. It only takes one case to make baby breeders think twice about entering the USA and whelping so they can free load on the American taxpayer "to keep the family together." ... I'm pissed because after a lifetime of being forced to "contribute" big bucks into SS from high paying aerospace jobs and a private practice, assuming my account would be there for me when I needed it, even with diabetes I am limited to only one blood test a year by medicare the same as lazy bastards with no initiative who didn't pay for college and worked at menial jobs all their lives, if they worked at all, so we can keep illegal families together. It has to end somehow. ... Now, at my advanced age, life in the U.S. has gone to shit so we can make everybody equal. I can't go back and do it over.
Cry me a river over the illegal freeloaders getting their families split. It's their own goddam fault their kids have to suffer. At least the kids will have a big advantage growing up in the U.S. with loving support from adoptive families who don't see them as meal tickets.
just my take. ... sue me.

Easy Tex you and me are in the same boat you just got there a couple of years before me. and I'm not no bleeding heart for illegals either just pointing that the article is one. Agreed this news will spread fast in Mexico but I do have to wonder what the hell obama is up to. | re: Stolen Babies? Immigrant Mother Loses Four Kids (karma: 2)
