November is a long way off, but this made my morning. :)

Gallup released their annual state-by-state presidential approval numbers yesterday, and the results should have 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue very worried. If President Obama carries only those states where he had a net positive approval rating in 2011 (e.g. Michigan where he is up 48 percent to 44 percent), Obama would lose the 2012 election to the Republican nominee 323 electoral votes to 215.

Gallup adds:

Overall, Obama averaged 44% job approval in his third year in office, down from 47% in his second year. His approval rating declined from 2010 to 2011 in most states, with Wyoming, Connecticut, and Maine showing a marginal increase, and Massachusetts, Wisconsin, Minnesota, New Jersey, Arizona, West Virginia, Michigan, and Georgia showing declines of less than a full percentage point. The greatest declines were in Hawaii, South Dakota, Nebraska, and New Mexico.

I wish we could do away with the "all or nothing" way of counting delegate votes. Why not just make them 1 for 1? California would sure look different. Think how different past elections would look if the Dems couldn't count on 50+ delegates automatically from the Golden State.

They can't possibly have believed it would last.

They know that they are the punishment. They know that they are merely what happens when conservatives cease to be conservative when they gain office and let the govt get out of control.

Consider Reagain->Bush 1 (and Nixon, and Bush 2, ... etc.)

Stop being conservative? Then conservatives (aka Real Americans) will sit it out, simply not vote, hence punishing the rest of you assholes with whatever blight the disloyal opposition happens to shit out, in this case, barry bongo.

They know this. This isn't a surprise to them. There's no fucking possible way they could believe that syphoning off hugh hunks of wealth to some anti-efficient bureaucracy will HELP the country. They're not stupid. They know their role, and when they get to play it.

Dont get your hopes up. Many of those who disapprove are liberals who believe Obama isnt extremist enough but will still vote for him anyway because hes not a republican. Im betting November is going to be very close.
