Jason Truitt of Colorado had seen plenty of action. The former SEAL had served seven tours in Iraq & Afghanistan, been wounded eleven times, been shot in the stomach and had several feet of intestine removed. He had been captured twice, tortured and disfigured, and been declared Missing In Action for two months & 14 days. He lost vision in one eye.

He was reluctant to talk about his combat experience.

"I’ve been through a lot, bro,” he said bluntly. “It’s kind of hard to talk about.”

One little problem; it's as fake as an Obama speech.

When Truitt's story was printed and he received a free hunting trip and Weatherby rifle - plus gas money to make the trip - his neighbors called to say none of it was true, that he had never served. Real-life SEALs quickly busted his story, pointing out that (a) NONE of them had ever heard of him, and (b) no SEAL in history has ever been captured. (Marcus Luttrell was the only MIA, for 6 days in June 2005; he WAS NOT in enemy hands.)

Truit is not listed on the DoD register of POW's & MIA's, no Truitt of any name is listed in the SEAL database, and it is impossible to complete 7 tours of duty between 2001-2006 when you were imprisoned in 2004 for 16 months.

The organizers of the hunt, and the NRA (which donated the rifles) are going after Truitt, suing to recover the rifle and damages. An NRA spokesman said "lawyers will be involved, and there will be consequences." Bob Luna, who has hosted the hunt for the past five years, said he is not allowing this situation to slip past.

“Who would do this? We’re not letting this guy get away with this. We’re going for the gun, the money and pressing charges.”

I got out in 72, when I went to the university, there was a guy who hung with the same group of people as I. I called him out at a big party with all our friends. The guy was a nice guy, but that didn't hack it, pretending to be a Vet. One good thing that came out of it, women! I used to be really shy around women, but after that, they were all over me, and I'm one ugly dude, lol!
