New York authorities finally corrected a spelling snafu.

Hard to believe, but the glaring error in front of a Lower East Side building, which houses two high schools & a middle school, had been in place since July 2010. NY Public Schools administration blamed a contractor (whom they would not identify), who supposedly ripped up the street for utility work, and then replaced the existing markings with the misspelling. A different contractor corrected the markings.

Residents and teachers were aware of the error. "I'm busy grading papers in the school. I'm not grading the city on their spelling," said Rene Anaya, an assistant principal.

The error was only corrected after a story - with photos - appeared in the NY Post newspaper.

They got paid double to do it wrong the first time and get paid double to come back and fix it.

After 4 times the going rate for stiping, the tax payers finally get their school crossing.

Betcha the fucks spelled "mayor" right the first time though.

The Union workers all be former Rikers Island graduates. Then again, so is half of NYCs residents.
