I'm not a big fan of Starbucks coffee (overpriced and doesn't taste that great), but I'll be buying from them all next month.

Why? Several anti-gun groups have targeted Starbucks for a boycott.

The NGAC (National Gun Victim's Action Council), which claims it is a "network of 14 million gun victims"* and several "faith communities"**, is calling for a boycott. The stated reason is that Starbucks "allows guns and assault weapons to be carried in its stores." The NGAC also claims that
Starbucks' compliance with the National Rifle Association's Pro-Gun Agenda was exposed in 2010 when members of the "open carry" movement began meeting in popular chains, such as California Pizza Kitchen, Peets, IKEA, Disney and Starbucks openly carrying their handguns and assault rifles. To protect their customers and employees, all of the retail chains—except for Starbucks— banned guns from being carried in their stores.

Eliot Fineman, CEO of NGAC, complains that "Starbucks allowing guns to be carried in thousands of their stores significantly increases everyone's risk of being a victim of gun violence." He also says that,

"Open and conceal and carry are among the reasons there are 12,000 gun homicides each year in the U.S. If we had England's gun laws we would expect 375 gun homicides each year—97% less than we have. England's gun laws are based on protecting public safety, ours on maximizing sales for the gun industry."

*I seriously doubt they have 14 million members

**the "faith communities" they cite, such as the Episcopal Peace Fellowship and the United Church of Christ, have a long history of left-wing activism, including support for Liberation Theology and the Nicaraguan Sandinista regime. Barry Soetero/Barack Obama, remember, was a member of Jeremiah Wright's UCC.

Personal comment: I believe the NGAC is fudging their figures somewhat, since it looks like a lot of the "concealed carry" that NGAC is griping about involves off-duty LEOs. Since 2004, LEOs have been able to carry weapons practically anywhere, at anytime - thanks to the Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act (thank you, George Bush).

Is that Pam Anderson in the photo on the bike? If you saw her in person, you would puke. The last time she looked halfway decent was in 1986.

As for the idiots who boycott starfucks, I will start buying there even though I rarely drink coffee.

I don't use rat poison for rapists. I prefer a hands-on approach, like flaying you alive, you pig.

Starbucks acquires a taste for booze

Starbucks announced Monday that it will start offering beer, wine and premium food -- essentially a nighttime bar menu -- at a handful of stores in Atlanta and Southern California by the end of 2012.

Calling it a "a natural progression," Starbucks senior vice president Clarice Turner said: "We are always looking for ways to evolve and enhance the Starbucks experience based on what our customers are telling us.

Besides, the concept seems to be working in the handful of Pacific Northwest stores where it has been tested for more than a year. "We're pleased with the response of our customers to the introduction of wine, beer and premium foods at several of our stores in the Pacific Northwest, and we're excited to see how the idea translates to other markets," she said.

:O Oh please, wot with? Your strap on, maybe!?!?! You naughty, naughty person, wot! If I wos a rapist, I must have been the most considerate rapist there wos around. No force whatsoever. Just put it in to mild moans of enjoyment? Well, no audible sounds of rejection until the bollocking afterwards! I'm a bit mutton jeff in my starboard lug, due to Uncle Adolf's Doodle-bug, so maybe I didn't hear the *maiden's* cry of "no"!
