USA Democratic Congresswoman: 20,000 jobs not important (karma: 18)

Democratic Congresswoman ditches guaranteed jobs in favor of ephemeral green jobs.
Jan Schakowsky (D) from Illinois, dismissed the XL pipeline as "insignificant," saying that the 20,000 jobs it would create "is not that many."
“Twenty thousand jobs is really not that many jobs, and investing in green technologies will produce that and more. But I’ll tell you what, you know it seems to me that the Republicans would rather have an issue than a pipeline.”
The XL pipeline would transport oil from Alberta, Canada to the US Gulf Coast.
Dan Coats (R) of Indiana, a vocal proponent of the pipeline, fired back.
“Tell that to the 20,000 people that woke up this morning and didn’t have a job to go to.”

Hmmm. Green Technology will provide many more jobs? Pardon me, but after Solyndra and similar government-sponsored company failures, color me skeptical.

If we had just a 70/30 slanted MSM for the donks there would be only 15% democrat party elected members.
I'm beginning to think that this is not going to be an amicable divorce. |

The irony is that tax-raising Jan Schakowsky's husband (Jan is an avowed communist by the way) went to prison for tax evasion. |

Nothing at all, i wish we had it here instead of gas heat
Hot Springs Arkansas gets its hot water (and interior heating, maybe, I don't know) by way of geo thermal, it's one of the only "green" energy solutions that makes economic sense but it's not available in all areas. that totally depends on location to make it feasible and cost effective. Where practical, it's a thousand times better than wind farms or solar farms which are truly just a way to funnel taxpayer's money to political donors and allies of the "No Coal No Gas No Oil" people (green liberal communits scum)
wind, solar...these political exercises in futility, waste and ideological insanity will NEVER turn a profit and will NEVER supplant petroleum or nuclear or coal as cost effective energy sources |

You are correct, we are just plain stupid not using all that free steam to power our planes, trains, and automobiles.

A better question would be what energy sources does he think we use.
This moron obviously thinks the US uses petroleum to generate electricity.

Moron.
Planes aside (At the moment); you can buy/run/make electric cars/motorcycles; you can run electric trains (and adapt them to run on batteries the size of a carriage) and you can run electric houses.
Batteries are the key.
I will say that agian; in case you missed it.
Batteries are the key.
I will say that agian; in case you missed it twice already (along with the previous thousand times).
Batteries are the key.
Gradually move from petrolium and the associated pollution and waste...
Or is that beyond your comprehension?
Or are you pissed Japan has the patents of Li-ion tech?

We got radiation in the baby milk; they just pulled it all off the shelves. One brand only.
Personally our prefecture got less radiation than Monatana.
