New "energy revolution" could cost trillions.
Jaw-dropping cost of "renewable energy" for Germany
Michael Süss, head of Siemen's energy division, spoke publicly for the first time about Germany's proposed "renewable energy" plan.
By Siemen's estimate, the new energy policy will cost €1.4 trillion ($1.8 trillion) BEFORE factoring in the costs of early nuclear shutdown. Süss made the remarks at the the Energiewirtschaft 2012 conference organized by the Handelsblatt newspaper in Berlin. Siemens confirmed the data to World Nuclear News later in the day.
Germany committed to an "energy revolution" several years ago, designed to tackle "climate change" and establish renewable energy technologies. The Fukushima nuclear reactor accident in Japan accelerated planned nuclear power plant shutdowns in Germany, closing some as many as 14 years ahead of schedule.

that is one third of the German economy
not going to happen, build more super safe nuclear power plants
I believe solar energy is the future but today the technology is not here

The Germans will click their heels and begin informing on their neighbors who use incandescent bulbs or who don't put weatherstripping around their windows. |

After Fukushima, the socialist global warmers pushed for the end of nuke energy and this is the result. |

Pure madness. Even the Jap plants would have held up against the 8.9 earthquake and tsunami if they hadn't totally depended on electrical emergency back and place that right next to the plant in tsunami-prone location. Last time I checked, Germany doesn't have earthquakes or tsunamis. |

The figure is an estimate until 2030, which boils down to ~$100 billion annually. That puts things into perspective.
Another thing is that the head of Siemens energy division will certainly not be impartial to the issue and the figures are most likely exaggerated to bolster his arguments pro nuclear energy. I suppose the environmental lobby will come up with a much lower estimate.
In any case, a comparison of running costs is more relevant to the discussion since technology change always entails investment. "Renewable energy" will most likely be more expensive for sure, so a delta per kW/h would be really great for an informed opinion. |

If the wops and wogs don't trash Germany's economy, then it is a certainty that the Greens party will do it for them. |

Fuck the sanctimonious Germans. Somebody call Putin and tell him, if he doesn't take Nazi-land, we'll give it to the Turks. |
