"Airbus emphasizes that these cracks do not affect the safe operation of the aircraft."
More cracks found in Airbus A380 wings
Reuters) - Airbus (EAD.PA) said on Thursday it had discovered more cracks in the wings of two A380 superjumbo aircraft but insisted the world's largest jetliner remained safe to fly.
The announcement comes two weeks after tiny cracks were first reported in the wings of the 525-seat, double-decker aircraft, which entered service just over four years ago.
"Airbus confirms that some additional cracks have been found on a limited number of non-critical brackets ... inside the wings of some A380s," the planemaker said in a statement.
"Airbus emphasizes that these cracks do not affect the safe operation of the aircraft."
The European Aviation Safety Authority (EASA) confirmed it would issue a bulletin Friday mandating precautionary checks.
The latest cracking problem was discovered in two aircraft during a routine two-year inspection, an Airbus spokeswoman said. She declined to name the operators of the aircraft.

non-critical brackets
NON-CRITICAL???? oh...okay. If that's the case, why are they
there? And if *non-critical* then WHY are they cracking?
There is NO FUCKING WAY I ever get on an airburst. I will NOT
fly on one. |

The A380 has enough room on its wings to park 70 cars and a wingspan of 79.8m (261ft 10in).
If only those idiots would stop parking their cars on the A380s' wings, there would be no cracks. |

April 14th, 1912, the RMS Titanic.
"Sir, when we hit that iceberg it created a large crack in the side of the ship.
"Pfft...it doesn't affect the safe operation of the ship. It's just a big ice cube- quit being a fucking pussy. Now get up top and rearrange the deck chairs". |

Only to the french are wings a "non critical" element of a plane. |

Understand that to act French, is to be in sympathy with another culture. This involves isolating the various components that constitute "Culture" and interpreting the norms. Like any other culture, there is no universally accepted definition of 'norm'. |

Couldn't this be the first sign of a bona fide aviation disaster? |

One can only imagine the 100's of millions of dollars AirBeast is paying Emirates , Singapore, Quantas and Lufty to not publicially say 'return this white elephant to sender'.
I bet insurance is pretty 'spenive' now on these POS. |

With all cracks you'll need crack to get on this death trap. |

Do not pay attention to the man behind the curtain.
Fwench planes are safe to fly. They have an automatic recording that is designed to re-assure the passengers. It usually says:
"You are safe, nothing will go wrong"
until the following happens:
"...nothing will go wrong, nothing will go wrong, nothing will go wrong......" |

LOL@ Baghdad Bob. "What crack? We have no crack! We have not seen crack here for most years! We don't like crack. NO NO NO We have no crack in this whole arena!"
I have to say though, that every aluminum skinned puddle jumper that I've flown on has cracks in the outer skin, at least. Then again of course, every time I fly on one I find my religion again. |

A380= Concorde...another white elephant as well as a known death trap. How many warnings were published on the concorde's gas tank vulnerabilities, before the fatal event?
We'll have a spectacular air disaster and this pile of merde will disappear in the history books like the white elephant aka concorde. Yet another financial disaster for eads.
I fly these a320's weekly...nervous as hell...damn UA |

Airbus have been outselling boeing for quite a few years now, and they have a better safety record to boot. |

Talking of white elephants. How is the biggest of them all getting on? The international space station. 12 times over budget and years late. At least neither Airbust or Boing managed to kill western civil aviation. The iss managed to kill Western space programs. One of the few intelligent decisions by Blair was to veto any British involvement in the iss. Even he could see that it would become the biggest technological white elephants of all time. |

The whole point of the ISS was to allow little shit countries to say that they were involved in space. I don't know if it's still on display, but you could see the kitchen for the ISS built by the US at the Rocket Museum in Huntsville Alabama. American taxpayers paid for it and then it was scrapped because the Italians wanted to participate. It was all about making you Your-a-peons feel good. |

... The ISS, moon visits, and space exploration in general, aren't about reaching the final goals. ... It's the stuff that falls out of the research and development programs that are the real pay-offs. ... Kinda like chasing after women.
