In memoriam - Cutthatcheese (karma: 19)  en>fr fr>en

Several weeks ago shon accommodated the FF community by putting a section together to honor (or lampoon) some of our veteran members who have shed their mortal shells and now have an eternity to use the celestial internet and listen to music.

CTC was one of the few members on this site I came to have a real relationship with offline. Those who remember him know he was witty, youthful in his penchant for mischief, passionate about his love for America and his Jewish heritage and genuinely sweet. He lived in Poland, was a drummer and had children he adored. For me a great spark of entertainment was extinguished on this site when CTC died abruptly due to some medical complications. It has been years since his passing and my thoughts still turn to him and I worry about the welfare of the family he left behind who were always at the front of his thoughts.

Cheese was very social and got to know many of the members here in private messages. It didn't matter if they were Americans, Canadians or Europeans, CTC enjoyed cultivating relationships. He was politically anti-European but still appreciated the positive aspects of European culture such as crappy British TV that he and Al found common ground on.

OldLyme had a special relationship with him, a mutual bromance. Flyingdutchman was a lifelong friend and comes from the same good stock of wit and friendliness that characterized Cheese.

He loved FF and spent a lot of time on this site often getting caught up in the silly intrigues and soap operas and laughing his ass off on skype in real-time as those threads came into being.

He was not the first prolific poster to die but he remains one of the best loved by many and since he was my friend I have to go out of sequence to post a thread to remember and honor him.

For those who did not like him, I am sure he would get a kick at your insults, So don't hold back. The quality of the posters who would attack him speaks for itself.

Party In Peace, CTC. You are missed and loved.

. . . . He was a great persona and, you are right, his absence is missed here on FF.

Unfortunately I never knew CTC. However I will have the dubious honor of saying that I knew RogerPippin when he finally goes to that litter tray in the sky.

My only regret is that I didn't take him up on his offer to visit Poland.

He said that he was fattening a carp in the bath tub for me.

Unfortunately, never. As he admitted, he was too lazy to get on the Krakow-Warsaw train ;)

...i think his humor was so effective because timing is everything and he spent alot of time here as he did much of his work from home. he was on top of all the threads. we were 12 hours apart but and i worked shift work and it seemed i could still get in touch with him any time of day and he would keep me up to date on what was happening here. and yet with all the people he knew here he never gossiped or shared any personal info from his many friends here. since his passing i haven't had a need to skype anymore and i miss that.

...yeah simultaneous skyping and posting was alot of fun with him. i remember one nite we did a favorite sandwich thread while we were talking on skype and having some laughs over you are what you eat.there was a period where he was hounded by "shrubby". he liked bumping heads with geebers.
