Someday, somewhere, someone has to pay.

BRIGHTON, England, Sept. 20 (UPI) -- Lloyd's has sued Saudi Arabia for the Sept. 11, 2001, U.S. terror attacks, claiming the kingdom is partly responsible because it funded al-Qaida.

The Lloyd's 3500 syndicate, based in Brighton, England, seeks repayment from the Arab kingdom of nearly $300 million it said it paid to victims of the attacks, Bikya Masr reported Tuesday.

In the suit filed in Pennsylvania -- site of the United 93 crash after passengers overpowered the terrorists -- Lloyd's said Saudi Arabia bears partial responsibility since al-Qaida was supported financially through banks and charities that were "agents and alter egos" for the Saudi government.

The case names a several prominent Saudi charities and banks, as well as members of the royal family, Bikya Masr said. Saudi government officials deny any first-hand knowledge of the allegations.

The 156-page lawsuit alleges the nine defendants "knowingly" fomented anti-Western sentiment and provided resources, including funding, to al-Qaida years before the attack. Had it not been for these resources, "al-Qaida would not have possessed the capacity to conceive, plan and execute the Sept. 11 attacks," the lawsuit said.

Here we go, an Insurance giant found parties liable for 9.11. It is always easy to blow it all, and less agreeable to pay the bill.

I don't know if the claim stands on grounds firm enough to pass through, but I like the idea. Whoever finances Al-Qaida should think twice, after all.

Wait and see ... we'll monitor the case in the future, if anything comes out.

Well it's about bleeding time. We all knew within days that the bulk of the terrorists were Saudi Arabians and that the bulk of their funding came from Saudi Arabia. The only legitimate question is why did it take 10 years to admit the reality of the situation?

A building can only be insured against construction faults, unless a policy against terrorism was closed of which I never heard of. It would make as much sense to sue Boeing for building the offending aircraft or at least failing to install pilot- and co-pilot ejector seats for the event thet terrorists would eventually fly the plane.
Nice try, Lloyds. Next, they'll try going after agents who weakened the buildings prior to collapse.
Or, maybe sue the following 3 clowns for their part. Note how jittery Bush gets, before getting told. While being told, you could see he hasn't spent enough time rehearsing before his mirror. There's got to be a close-up vid out there somewhere:

The other 2 clowns:
