Clegg argues against renegotiation of UK-EU relationship In a speech at the LSE yesterday, Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg signalled Lib Dem opposition to the repatriation of powers from Brussels, which Chancellor George Osborne and Foreign Secretary William Hague have reportedly begun planning for. “On a day like today, when people are talking openly about the possibility of Greek default, the key question is not how do we seek to renegotiate the UK’s place in the European Union in a treaty that hasn’t even materialised yet.
The single most important question, the urgent question, is what role we can play in helping the eurozone avoid further turmoil,” helping the speedy demise of the whole experiment said Mr Clegg. He added that, “In terms of the eurozone, the real failure has not been the original concept of monetary union. It’s that the rules were never applied stringently enough.”

as clegg is the deputy PM Cameron is being forced 2 tow their idea of our relationship with europe - cameron does not want 2 rock the coalition boat - cameron is prepared 2 see the UK go down the tubes rather than upset Clegg -
the sooner this coalition is dissolved the better - Clegg and his cronies would never had any chance of holding any power at all if it were not for cameron - cameron should have gone it alone and he if was outvoted on an issue in the commons then so be it but 2 involve these liberal bastards in ruling the UK was a criminal act as far as I am concerned
they will not give us a referendum on europe but the Liberals got their referendum on AV and were trounced at the polls - they were fucking hammered AV had no chance of being implemented because no one in their right mind would want any liberal involvement in running the government of the day and I sincerely hope this term is the last they are ever involved - they need 2 go back 2 being the laughing stock in parliament - the only thing they ever succeeded in doing was being the butt of scorn in the house |
