I think not being Governor allows her to go on a permanent campaign. She can pack stadiums just like Obama did. She can give voice to other politicians who don't draw crowds.

As the nation unemployment goes above 10% then many people are going to hunt for an anti Obama charismic character.

If I were her, I would tell everyone to fuck off.

Why would competent leadership seek office? It is obvious the USA has turned into another communist shithole. Alaska is the last best hope that we have for freedom. I am tempted to move there a begin anew.

Fuck Washington DC.
Fuck france.

The Dims have managed to ruin the Palins financially with their relentless attacks which cost them nothing. It is personal and the only way to stop it is to remove herself as an easy target.
Now she is free to make some money and pay off the half million in debt the scumbags have cost her. She can make millions in speaking engagements alone. I don't think Sara plans to run in 2012 but will become a powerful voice in the conservative movement. At least I'm hoping that is the case. Backstabbing RINOS like McCain and Colon Bowell are one of the main reasons the Republican party is in the state it is in and someone needs to stand up for the base.
One of the reasons she is attacked so viciously is because she is so far above the moral cesspool her attackers represent.

I think all of you are on the right track (with the exception of the scandal comments)but consider this and think of the calendar while you are doing so.

"Resigning now hurts her chances" is pure media spin and is being spat out right now even by FOX news radio of all outlets no less.

1. She runs for re-election as governor and wins.
2. Then, if she wants to run for president starting in 2010, after having won, she then has to abandon the people who re-elected her to run for president? Not a good idea, only a selfish, self centered arrogant fuck would run for an office he does not intend to serve in so he could collect a check and run for another office. (That is not Sarah Palin and you would think less of her if she did do something like that)
3. She resigns effective the end of the month, Parnell has an easy transition, has time to understand the office, the voters are well served, the voters have time to understand him, there is continuity of her ideas and Parnell runs in 2010 and wins. This is more responsible and important than you think it is.
4. Remember that Reagan's term as Governor of California ended in 1975, which gave him too little to realy introduce himself to the nations voters in time for the 76 convention.
5. Palin has a tremendous level of attraction amongst mothers, shitkickers, gearjammers, rednecks, gun owners, pickup truck drivers, coal miners, NON-UNION factory workers, construction workers, pro-lifers, hunters, sportsfishermen, NASCAR types, now what she has to do is literally go back to school and learn econ and foriegn history.

She is maybe betting that OBAMOHAmed will be out BEFORE 2012

I think Sarah Palin always looks nice. I like her clothes.

I am sick of hearing about what a fashion icon the homely Michelle, Mrs. BO, is. I think Michelle looks like a clown at worse and simply sad at best.

She went through Westminster Abbey in an outfit I wouldn't let a kid wear. She looked like a nut. I was mortified. Would it have killed her to wear a dress while touring what is in effect a cemetery?

I think Sarah is being fair to the people of Alaska. She is spending close to a million dollars trying to defend herself from the constant erroneous ethics complaints filed by liberal assholes that are only out to destroy her career. I hope she has a good plan up her sleeve. The libs are terrified of her and I hope she finds a way to kick the shit out of all of them - especially the media.
