If you wish, but you'd probably spew more of the same garbage, caf. There're a lot of offensive comments being made on both sides of the 49th parallel but if you're think there are more on the Canadian side or even that they're roughly equal then you're mistaken.

You wrote "some" Canadian MPs. There was only one, Carolyn Parrish. Paul Martin reprimanded her a number of times for her comments. It's disgraceful that it took him so long to expel her from his caucus, but he did expel her and she was forced to sit as an independent. She also told Martin and "those around him" to "go to hell" and accused the Liberals of abandoning and then attacking her because of her comments. All the Conservative MPs criticized her harshly. To paint her comments as typical of Canadian MPs is retarded. You might as well use Howard Dean's comments to represent Bush. Nice going.

As for hockey fans verbally abusing children, I've read a number of anecdotes. But they go both ways and it's sometimes hard to separate the regular hockey mom and hockey dad bullshit from jingoistic anti-Canadian and anti-American bullshit. Apart from the asinine booing of national anthems by both sides, the most famous anti-American incident doesn't involve hockey fans at all. An American hockey team's bus got too close to an anti-War protest and a bunch of idiotic protesters yelled abuse at it. Of course it was disgraceful. But it was a bloody anti-war protest. Several members here often leave that detail out and that's dishonest and sleazy of them. If you don't think you'll find like minded people at anti-war protests all over the world, including the US, then you're deluding yourselves. The only difference is that an American bus doesn't stand out as "American" in an American city. Try putting that same bus alongside an anti-war protest in London, Sydney or Amsterdam and I think you'd end up with very similar results.

Verbally abusing children is definitely disgracious because kids are innocent but let me you of those kind of things that happen to us crossing the border when you don t have a big SUV.
